Diet
They are carnivorous and they should be fed a varied diet of live foods, frozen foods and meaty foods such as beef heart and chicken liver. They can adapt to eating pellets, but they shouldn't be fed pellets that often since they aren't a good source of nutrients.
Breeding
They are paternal mouthbrooders. The male will brood the eggs and fry for up to 6 weeks.
Compatibility
They are extremely aggressive towards their own species, but they are usually peaceful with fish too large to fit in their mouth.
