Diet
They are omnivores and will accept most foods, but be sure to feed them plenty of vegetable matter, like spirulina flakes. They should also be fed some live/frozen foods.
Breeding
They are maternal mouthbrooders. The female will lay 15-30 eggs, and then pick them up, then the male will fertilize them. She will carry the brood for 14-21 days, before releasing free-swimming fry.
Compatibility
They can be territorial. They are best kept in groups of 1 male and 3 females, males can be aggressive towards each other. Can be kept with other Malawi cichlids of similar size, as long as they aren't too aggressive.
