Provide a sandy substrate with bogwood and rocks to form hiding places. They require a large tank with good filtration.

They will accept most foods. Feed high quality flakes or pellets along with live/frozen foods such as bloodworm and brine shrimp.
Breeding
They are substrate spawners. Both parents will protect the eggs and fry. The fry hatch after 4-5 days and should be fed brine shrimp once they become free swimming.

They are best kept in shoals of around 6.
