They are ambush predators. In the aquarium, the will usually accept prepared foods such as cichlid sticks and pellets.
Breeding
They are substrate spawners. Provide some flat rocks for spawning sites. The eggs should hatch after 3-4 days. The fry should be free swimming after a week and then they can be fed brine shrimp.
