    Sold Free Briggs (Mystery) Snails

EDIT! :) Still have some Mystery Snails (Diffusa/Briggs) - They're all baby to teenager sized. I have around 100 of them, mostly Blue and Ivory, with some Purple and Magenta as well. I live downtown. Can meet you just about anywhere in the valley if you'd like some. :)

    Prolific critters!!

I think most fish people are too excited about their hobby to keep a secret like that. At some point, you'd be like, "LOOK AT THIS!" to the wrong person, and the po-po would be knocking at your door the next day. *lol*

    Prolific critters!!

I wonder if you can still get them. Apparently there's a local store that sells Apple snails as well, even though they're illegal? Then of course you'd have to keep your secret a secret, and what's the point in having something really cool if you can't share it?

    Prolific critters!!

I'm not big on the silver Arowanas, but I saw a few recently that were different colors that I thought were super cool! I'm not doing anything special for these Sterba eggs. I just don't have the growout space, so I'm letting nature take its course. No Methylene, no removal from the tank they...

    Prolific critters!!

So I went to Arizona for two weeks. When I got back, the fishsitter had overfed my tanks. I've got tons of Briggs snails (Mysteries) I'm growing out, and they had like doubled in size. Which would be great, but my water was LITERALLY green and smelled HORRIBLE because they'd been overfed so bad...

    It has begun!!!

My plants have been outgrowing my tank like crazy. I was thinking about yanking a bunch up and giving them away, but while the snails won't eat healthy plants, they do like dying plants, so I've been chopping the clippings up for them as snacks. The tank looks a little messy with plant bits...

    It has begun!!!

Getting bigger, you can now tell the blues from the whites with the naked eye. :) Here are some on the glass. And one of the baby blues learning how to vacuum feed at the surface. :) I also had my first batch in the Magenta & Purple tank hatch out today... Here's one dropping into...

    It has begun!!!

They are! I have to get my act together and get the purples' tank cleaned out today, because their first clutch should be hatching any day, and then set up the tank I have in my closet. They aren't going to be big enough, but until I can get my paws on a big tank, they'll have to do! :)

    It has begun!!!

Sucks that I was going to clean the substrate on that tank today, knowing that babies were going to hatch soon and I wouldn't be able to and.... Yeah, now that's not gonna happen. Ignore my disgusting substrate!! :D

    It has begun!!!

First breakfast with their mommy! (Who is stealing the algae wafer I dropped in for the babies... Mean mom! )

    It has begun!!!

Here you go! :) The Ivory in the back is their mother.

    It has begun!!!

Took a video of them, waiting patiently for it to upload. If I turn on the video camera and zoom in, I can actually see colors on them which I can't see with my own two eyeballs. Looks as though most (if not all) of them are ivory and blue. Which I expected, since their mom is ivory, and their...

    It has begun!!!

Woke up this morning to my first snail clutch completely hatched. They are SO CUTE! I forgot how adorable they are! They are almost microscopic. I can barely see their details with the naked eye, so I'm impressed that my phone camera was able to get a semi-clear photo of one. Since they're so...

    LED aquarium light got wet

I thought that was supposed to be one of the draws of LED's, that they could get damp without dying on you? (Or so I've heard...) I really hate my LED-lit tanks. They're both really awful TopFin kits, and the tanks are so dark! :(

    Dang filter

I had my old Whisper filters for more than a decade, and never had one quit on me. That's weird. Sometimes they'd play dead after I cleaned the impeller and put them back together, but I'd put a little water in them and smack them really hard on the side of the motor, and they'd jump back to...

    I have a problem

If I had the cash, I'd be filling my whole house with tanks again. I miss when my living room was filled with big, awesome aquariums. I also used to have a giant breeding rack in my bedroom. Took up half the room but I loved watching all the fish! If only I was independently wealthy...

    Want to Buy Apple snails

Welllll, I thought I'd have until this summer before my teenagers started breeding, but I had my first clutch laid last night. Pretty sure they were laid by an Ivory, who is in with Blues, and was previously in with Magentas, so who knows what will hatch out. My Goldens & Jades are also breeding...

    Next step add fish

I used to have Java Moss in my tanks back in the day. It sort of grew all wild and crazy, like a jungle, and completely took over all my shrimp tanks. I'm looking forward to seeing what these new mosses look like once they're well-established. It looks like they're all going to grow on these...

    Next step add fish

What kind of moss? I currently have 4 weird kinds I'm trying to propagate. I tied mine to those flowerball decorations that are all the rage among Betta keepers lately, because I couldn't find any nice, small rocks. So far, so good! :) Also, when I glanced at his pic quickly, it looked like you...
