He Jiankui has been charged by the Chinese government for creating genetically engineered babies. I find the genetic modification of humans to be kind of scary, I wonder if it will remain illegal, or if they will eventually allow more research into human genetic engineering to take place.

Eventually it will be legal, pressure will gradually grow just like IVF treatment. The prob!em is we can read the human genome, so we have the ability to detect genes for things like breast cancer, so women with the breast cancer gene can already op for surgery to have the breast tissue removed.

The next logical step would be to correct the gene so our kids won't cary it.In my opinion this is a very dangerous path to take.
I hope it remains illegal but sadly I can't see it doing so.
