What do you want to use the computer for? For gaming you want an i7 6700k or an i5 6600k. You also need to look at graphics cards. A 6gb gtx 1060 should be enough for you.

I meant 5930k. Gtx 1000 cards are top of the line, especially for gaming and graphics design. Same goes with the intel 5-6000 chips.

If you want to do graphic design then try a 5820k and a gtx 1070 ftw.

A 5820k is fancy. I wouldn't get a 5820k. I would get a 6800k instead. Would a 6700k work for the 3d desig?

My old computer was an amd athlon 5350 and it was super crappy. It worked ok for web browsing and such, but I couldn't run any 3d modeling stuff on it because it didn't even have a graphics card.

The 6700k is built more towards games, with the 5820k being more for modeling. For $50 more, the 5820k has 2 more cores, and hyperthreading, so basically 4 more cores.

Like I said, I wouldn't get the 5820k. I would get the 6800k if I get a 6 core.
What's the max you want to spend on a graphics card?
I don't know. Newegg is having a black friday sale.

700 dollars is way too much money. The quadro cards have the same GPU as the gaming cards, but they have error correcting ram and the GPUs are tested and the more stable ones go into the quadro cards. Quadro cards aren't worth it.

I remember the days when i had a DX60 486 with a 230mb HDD and 8mb ram with a 1mb graphics card, i was considered a 'power user' back then! :D. Then i joined the super league with a DX4 100 :p

They're graphics cards. They work with everything.

What makes them so special is how much more powerful they are than the 1050 ti. The 1070 is about 3.5x more powerful than the 1050 ti, and the 980 ti is about 4x.
