One of the two tetras in my small 2.5 gallon tank is laying on its side, but then it gets up and swims around and then it goes back down to the bottom. I did a water change on the tank recently. What do you think could be causing it? The fish is several years old, could it be dying from old age?

How old do you think it was when you got it? It could be old age, as they live 5-6 years on average.

It didn't grow at all? I wouldn't be surprised if it was already 2-3 years old, and now it is dying of old age. This sounds like old age death to me.

I can't remember, because I got them over two years ago, but I don't think it grew much if any. It was acting kind of weird after I added safe when I did a water change about a week ago, but it was acting fine a few hours later.
